Just as men once believed that the gods held up the sky and moved the sun and stars, so too did men believe that for Rome to get fed, rulers must dictate to their people. The accomplishments of Newton showed the folly of the first error, Adam Smith, the second. The ideas that recognized individual rights also identified its corollary, free trade. The freedom of trade and production is the culmination of the rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. They are as inseparable from each other as they are beneficial to humanity. Do not confuse, as have too many, free markets for pro-business. The free market favors neither business, nor labor; neither consumer, nor producer. It recognizes the rights of all to property and association and provides all a means through the court to settle their disputes. Those who seek to control men do so through the restriction of their means to achieve their ends. Your right of property is the use and disposal of the products of your effort. Do not let others dictate your means or proscribe your ends. Demand freedom for all and privileges for none.
